What's unique about a SCIPIE conference?

SCIPIE conferences provide a unique experience for researchers interested in the psychological study of learning. SCIPIE conferences are working conferences. You won’t see talking heads presenting completed research to relatively passive audiences at a SCIPIE conference. Rather, the focus is on moving the field of educational research forward by addressing the sometimes thorny theoretical and methodological challenges that present barriers to research progress. In addition, SCIPIE provides a forum for bringing participants’ expertise to bear in addressing pressing but neglected problems faced by schools and other agencies whose mission it is to provide meaningful instruction to constituents.
